Centre
Dubai is the leading regional centre for trade and business in the Middle East. It is the ideal location for international companies looking to establish and expand their business activities in the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, East Africa, the Eastern Mediterranean, the CIS and Central Asia.
Dubai's leading position can be attributed to political stability, liberal economic conditions and the almost complete absence of trading restrictions. Currently over 80% of the emirate's GDP is generated by trade and economic activities which are not connected to oil or its derived products.
However, Dubai is not only one of the most attractive economic centres in the Arab region, it also initiates a number of innovative projects. These included the ambitious Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Waterfront and the tallest building, the Burj Dubai, right next to which there are plans to build what is set to be the biggest shopping mall in the world. Next to that, the world's biggest airport - Dubai World Central Airport - which is due to open in 2008.
